• Why cannot horizontal slurry pump be reversed?

In fact, not only horizontal slurry pumps cannot be reversed, but all slurry pumps cannot be reversed.

In fact, not only horizontal slurry pumps cannot be reversed, but all slurry pumps cannot be reversed.

There is a rotation arrow on the pump cover of the slurry pump.

The slurry pump is a type of centrifugal pump. It relies on centrifugal force to transport slurry. The impeller and the pump shaft are connected through screw threads. In order to facilitate the disassembly of the impeller, the slurry pump was originally designed to have the impeller threaded through the counter-buckle. It is connected with the pump shaft in a way, which is why the slurry pump is prohibited from being reversed.

Because once it is reversed, the impeller will fall off and the thread on the impeller will be damaged. At the same time, due to high-speed rotation, the guard plate and volute may be damaged.

Once reversal occurs, be sure to disassemble the slurry pump and check whether the flow parts inside are damaged. If so, replace the damaged accessories in time.
